Brief Description of Job Duties:

A Business Analyst is the HS-EBIT key contact and knowledge specialist for agency business units. Work is of a highly diverse and complex nature, characterized by a broad range of activities and frequently changing conditions, situations, and problems. An individual must be vendor facing, self-starting, motivated and able to work independently by setting and meeting goals relative to specific situations and business needs.

General Duties:

This position will be a team member implementing a new product to replace the existing CCWIS Platform (Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System). The position will be responsible for collaborating with business to document business requirements and workflow. To challenge business to think outside the normal process and promote efficiency in the way of doing business. Identify business strengths and opportunities and offer recommendations based on research for areas of improvement. Plan, organize and deliver work sessions for gathering business requirements. Review and edit requirements and business processes, as necessary, based on purchased solution. Collaborate with contractor staff on design, development, and defect management. Collaborate with testing staff on test criteria and test plans.

• Use requirements to drive the design, review of test cases, process change requests, and manage a project s scope, acceptance, installation and deployment.

Experience required:

• Two years of actual Business Analyst experience
  
• A high level of proficiency with MS Visio and Excel
  
• Preferred, but not required: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) Certification or other Business Analysis certification.
  
• Preferred, but not required: Knowledge of Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) business areas.
  

Education required:

Bachelor s degree and two years experience with IT related work gathering requirements, requirements management, documenting workflows and facilitation as a Business Analyst. Additional experience in the areas listed above may be substituted for the required education as determined by the hiring manager.
