Erin Steen

I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia and lived there for 21 years before moving back to the US to get my university degrees. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice as well as a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have over 15 years experience in counseling and 20 years in teaching. I have lived in the Gulf for 30 years and worked in Kuwait for 9 years as a school Counselor from ECE to High School.

I have worked with the homeless population in Denver Colorado and then took a job at a residential treatment facility for adolescent sex offenders but also worked on the adolescent gang units for 4 years in Aurora Colorado. I then moved to Korea where I taught ESL/EFL to children ranging in age from 3-12 years old. After that I moved to Kuwait and was a counselor for ECE and Elementary school for 2 years then moved to the middle school to be the counselor there for another 2 years. This was at American Academy for Girls. I then finished my masters. I have taught and be a school counselor in the 9 years that I have resided in Kuwait. However, I have been working with children since the age of 15 and all my counseling jobs have been with children and young adults.

Getting My Master of Science in Clincal Mental Health Counseling has been my greatest academic achievement and  has made me more efficient and better at my job as counselor. My masters of Science is my latest degree .
