Receives and provides guidance, orientation and exposure to all responsibilities , duties and service training on equipment

· Assists and trains BME technicians in maintenance and repair of equipment

· Liaise closely with medical professionals, doctors and lab technicians with supplying companies and their agents/engineers

· Be proficient with specialty equipment in multiple models

· Uses knowledge and experience with technology and equipment to oversee all service operations and familiarize with processes and procedures

· Communicates and builds relationships with vendors, technicians, engineers, nurses, department heads and other healthcare facilities and units

· Manages and documents maintenance contracts; supervises all actions taken by third party contract engineers and monitors labor and parts utilization

· Facilitates in the training of institute personnel on equipment safety and proper use of medical equipment to prevent damages and misuse

· Documents all work order , tests , equipment status and condition , user misuse, device related incidents and other department performances

· Prepares quarterly and annual reports on work orders, maintenance and equipment movements.

· Deals with technical queries on clinicians and researchers and give advice on new equipment

· Performs daily rounds and assists with quarterly equipment checkup and inventory.

· Performs a variety of complicated and manual tasks i.e cleaning , lubrication of equipment components, replacing accessories and personally transporting equipment

· Utilize computer software and mathematical models to design , develop and test new materials through performance tests, safety analysis, programming electronics and troubleshooting problems

· Research, develop & maintain instruments and equipment to aid research and clinical staff
